Mr. Franklin Wong, 66, of Greensboro, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Frank was born in Los Angeles, CA to Kai and Miu Kuen Wong and grew up in San Francisco, CA. Frank attended Galileo High School and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Political Science and Business Administration. Frank later moved to Greensboro, NC to open his restaurant.
Frank enjoyed cooking, traveling, going to the beach, playing basketball, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. Frank was an excellent chef and enjoyed cooking for friends and family. He never met a stranger and has been referred to by many as “the life of the party”.
Frank was an active member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed helping with food preparation and providing the music during church events.
Franklin Wong is survived by his parents Kai and Miu Kuen Wong of San Francisco, CA; two daughters, Victoria Allen (Ben) of Charlotte, NC, Rebecca Simmons (JP) of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter, Vivian Sloan Allen; brothers, Jeff Wong (Jody) of San Francisco, CA, Charles Wong (Jane) of Greensboro, NC, Allen Wong (Nancy) of San Francisco, CA; sisters, Julie Wong (Charlie Young) of San Mateo, CA and Shirley Chan (Felix) of San Francisco, CA, many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. He will be forever loved and missed.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Greensboro, NC. Ebenezer Lutheran Church is located at 310 South Tremont Drive in Greensboro, NC. A luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall where the family will receive visitors and friends following the service.
