Gail Barrett Blythe, 70, of Denver, NC passed away on December 5, 2016 at her home.
She was born on January 30, 1946 in Charlotte, NC to the parents of Everett and Margaret Sims Barrett. After graduating from North Mecklenburg High School in 1963 she worked at General Times in Davidson and then went to IBM in Charlotte in receiving and inspection of electric parts. Gail retired early because of her illness. Since childhood, she was a member of First Baptist Church in Cornelius. She loved to cook desserts, loved collecting lots of antiques, all kinds of pottery and glassware. We are sure the antique shops have missed her for the last couple of years.
She is survived by her husband Eddie Blythe; her son, Chuck Hyde & wife Wendy; her daughters, Lana Eudy and husband Derek, Mitzi Mente and husband Jason, Tracy Ballard and husband Rod, Shannon Campagna and husband Danny; her grandchildren, Cameron, Jordon, Devin, Dakotah, Coby, Mason, Amber, Leigh, Bailey, Forest, Kyndal, Daniel and Sydney, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Margaret Sims Barrett; two brothers Charles and Gary Barrett; nephew Mike Barrett; mother and father-in-law, Webb and Ruth Blythe of Long Creek; many uncles and aunts in the Sims and Blythe family.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 9, at 11:00 AM, at James Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at funeral home. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, 19600 Zion Avenue, Cornelius, NC 28031.
