Jeanne Deligny Stone, of Davidson, passed away June 9, 2017 at 100 years old. She was born in Bardonia, New York on June 11, 1916. She was the forth child born to Leon and Fernande Deligny. She graduated from Pearl River High School as well as The Packard School in New York City. She worked at Lyons and Carnahan in New York City until the year she married Orison Winfield Stone of Valley Cottage, New York. Jeanne was Secretary/Treasurer of Developak, her husband’s business, until it was sold at which time she and her husband moved to Vermont.
Jeanne was pre-decesed by her husband of 57 years; her sister Yvonne Lankau, of Portland, ME; a brother Frederick A. Deligny, of Wurtsboro, NY; a brother Marcel L. Deligny of Ventura, CA; a sister Jacqueline Moler of Charleston, IL.
Jeanne was devoted wife, loving mother, a friend to all she met, an avid gardener and delighted in sharing fruit, vegetables and flowers with her neighbors.
She is survived by three sons: Jay Douglas Stone and his wife Candace of Moorsville, NC; James Leverett Stone of Grand Rapids, MI; and Gary Winfield Stone and his wife Sharon of Danbury, CT. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Kimberly Jean Dellosa and her husband Domenic of Charlotte, NC; Jonathan Jay Stone and his wife Elizabeth of Fort Mill, SC; Courtney Jo Stone of Huntersville, NC; and Alexander Orison Stone of Stamford, CT. She is also survived by five great grandchildren: D.J. Stone, Brianna and Luca Dellosa, and Isabella and Shepherd Stone
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 11 at James Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the James Funeral Home Community Room. Internment at a later date alongside her husband at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon, VT.
