Marjorie McNaughton (nèe Streussnig)
On Sunday, October 29, 2017, Marjorie McNaughton, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away at the age of 69.
A native of Jeannette, Pennsylvania, Marjorie graduated from Jeanette High School. Following graduation, she began her professional career in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the marketing division at Koppers. Shortly after she moved to Arlington, Virginia, where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the FBI. She then moved on to being an Executive Secretary at US Air, where she met her future husband, and lifetime companion, Richard McNaughton.
Richard and Marjorie married on May 10, 1975. Over the next five years Marjorie became a loving mother to sons Brian and Adam. Throughout the years that followed Marjorie was a loving and devoted mother, wife, sister and friend. At work, principally as a Legal Secretary in Northern Virginia, then Charlotte, North Carolina, she was respected and admired. At home, she was a constant source of love and comfort.
Marjorie was a member of Central Church of God, and actively participated in the women’s Bible study program.
Marjorie is survived by her husband Richard, sons Brian and Adam, three grandchildren, Sydney and Ian McNaughton and Avery McNaughton,sisters Elaine Streussnig, Rosemary Popovich, Joanne VanSice, Mariann Lipinski, and Kristina Leonard. Her death was preceded by her mother and father, Margaret and Theodore Streussnig, and brother Teddy Streussnig.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 1:45 pm on Friday, November 3 in the lobby of Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270. A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm in the sanctuary.
